COSMETIC DENTISTRY

At Paulton Dental we are committed to helping our patients smile confidently again. We understand the importance of aiding patients in their journey towards a happy and healthy smile.

We offer a range of cosmetic dentistry treatments to improve the appearance of teeth, gums and/or bite. Our dentists will discuss options with you including colour, positioning, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance.

During a consultation our dentists will write up a treatment plan breaking down the chosen course of action, personally tailored to you for the best outcome. Our treatment plans also breakdown the costs of each individual treatment so you have a clear understanding of all prices.

TOOTH COLOURED FILLINGS

Many people have silver (amalgam) fillings in their mouth, however advancements in treatment now allow us to offer natural looking fillings. These fillings also offer just as much security and safety as the silver (amalgam) ones and our dentists can blend these fillings to the individual shade of your tooth, therefore ensuring confidence in every laugh and smile.

COMPOSITE BONDING

Composite bonding is the application of a tooth-coloured composite resin to repair a fractured, chipped, decayed or discoloured tooth, or even just to change the shape of a tooth. Unlike veneers, which are manufactured in a laboratory and require a customised mould to achieve a proper fit, bonding can be done in a single visit. The procedure is called bonding because the material bonds to the tooth.

VENEERS

Dental Veneer

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain which is custom made to fit over the front surface of a tooth. Sometimes a natural colour ‘composite’ material is used instead of porcelain. Veneers are used to improve the colour, shape and alignment of your teeth. A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured tooth or to lighten the front teeth. A veneer can restore a chipped tooth’s façade, making the tooth look brand new.

TEETH WHITENING

Teeth Whitening allows you to lighten the shade of your teeth to a brighter white. It removes staining and discolouration, and gives you a smile to take pride in. It’s a completely safe procedure when carried out under professional supervision. Treatment results vary dependant on the severity of the discolouration.

Teeth can discolour for various reason and therefore during a consultation your dentist will recommend the best course of action based on your oral condition to establish the cause and nature of your tooth discolouration. Our tooth whitening treatment is administered at home using customised whitening trays and whitening gel for the duration of two to four weeks, until the desired lighter teeth shade is achieved.

Once tooth whitening treatment has been administered, it is easier to continue topping up. Therefore after the first course of treatment, if you feel you need another application of gel, you can simply purchase more gel to keep teeth consistently brighter.

WHITE SPOT REMOVAL [ICON]

Composite Bonding

ICON is a new minimal invasive solution to remove white spots from the teeth surface. Before ICON the only available treatment for this was to drill the lesion out and fill the cavity with a tooth coloured filling.

The white discolorations present on the tooth’s surface are caused by early stages decay, fluorosis or enamel developmental defects. The white spots can also appear after the removal of fixed appliances (braces) when orthodontic treatment is completed.

Essentially, ICON uses a liquid resin that reflects the light, therefore creating a matching or blended visual effect.
